Generic Name: Plerixafor (pler-IX-a-fore)Brand Name: Mozobil

Mozobil is used for:

Stimulating the body to release stem cells into the blood in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma. These stem cells are then collected and used in stem cell transplant. It is used along with granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Mozobil is a hematopoietic stem cell mobilizer. It works by blocking certain substances in the bone marrow. This allows stem cells to move from the bone marrow into the bloodstream, where they can be collected for transplant.
